Wizards 2025 trade deadline summary.  This year’s trade deadline was pretty hectic, if you didn’t manage to catch all of the moves made by the Wizards (there were a lot) I got you covered! Kyle Kuzma has been in trade talks for over a year now and the Wizards finally found a suitor with the Milwaukee Bucks. Last year Kuzma was rumored to be worth 2 first round picks and was linked to the Kings, however the Wizards decided to keep him. After a bad first half of the season (15.2 points per game, shooting a career low 28% from three) Kuzma’s trade value tanked and the optimism of getting a first round pick for him at the deadline died off. However the Wizards kind of got the equivalent of a first round pick in this deal by getting rookie AJ Johnson. The Bucks needed to throw either a first or a good young piece to get rid of Middleton’s horrible contract. Middleton earns 31 million dollars a year which could go up to 34 million because of an extension available at the end of the year....

  After being diagnosed with a right wrist fracture, (the Washington Wizards's 2023 number one pick) Bilal Coulibaly is set to rest for the remainder of the season. This feels like this is a good time to do a retrospective of his year. My first “encounter” with Bilal Coulibaly wasn’t on draft night. Unlike many Wizards fans, I live in Paris and had the chance to see Coulibaly’s former team, Mets 92, in a playoff game. While everybody at the game was focusing on a 7 '5 alien/the new coming of Kevin Durant (rightfully so), I kept an eye on the young wing Coulibaly. Bilal had started the season with the under-21s, but he quickly gained coach Vincent Collet’s confidence, and towards the end of the season Coulibaly was climbing more and more in mock drafts. Trading the 8th pick for the Pacers’ seventh pick with supplementary compensation, the new Wizard's front office took a gamble and drafted Coulibaly, setting the tone for the new regime in place led by Michael Winger.   It’s official, the Washington Wizards are the worst team in the NBA ! This for many wizards fans, me included, comes as a relief. With a new front office, we knew coming into this season that the Wizards were going to tank. Draft day is still far away, but as the wizards sit at an 11-55 record, they are very likely to inherit a high lottery pick. The Wizards also own the Clippers’s first-round pick (25th) going into this draft which they acquired in the Daniel Gafford trade earlier this season. Here is what I would do if I were the Wizards’s GM. I’m trading the first overall pick to Oklahoma for two of their first-round picks (OKC owns the Rockets first-round pick and the Jazz’s first-round pick which is protected 1-10).   This trade can help both teams. Many see this draft as the most talentless we’ve had in a while. And as crazy as it sounds, Sam Presti has too many picks, if just for salary reasons.
